I stumbled across this site by chance. A sad story. I hope this gets resolved, for better or for worse, so that there is at least some closure for those who are affected.

Hello To The Prior Family
I was just listening to the new podcast episode of Dark Poutine and I heard about Sharron's case. I am so so sorry. What an awful loss, she sounds like she was just a beautiful soul. I'm so sorry and I only hope that 1 day this case will be solved. Even though it has been 45 yrs., I hope that you will get closure one day. Sharron sounds like she was just a wonderful sweet girl. My heart breaks for you.

In the history of murders of anyone in Canada, how many died by the assailant jumping on the rib cage either feet or knee manner. VERY FEW. Allen Legere, the monster of Mieamichi NB killed a priest in that manner. He also raped and murdered multiple women. He was roughly 23 at the time, black hair blue eyes, a self taught locksmith (how he escaped), had travelled during the 70 s as a used car salesman in North Bay and Sudbury and NB. He was from an area called Verdun, NB. Evidence used to seal a conviction was jewllery sold in Mtl of a kidnapped and murdered NB woman. Had known drug trafficking contacts in Mtl, was in with the Hells Angels etc... fits the description of Cheryl Roy s attacker. Currently in max security in Quebec province.

YES I was the victim of a shooting and it was six times by Danny Lalonde, I never told police on him and he is dead of Cancer now, and he said to me "Sorry I Was Drunk" and he probably wanted to make his name with Richard Matticks who he idolized, because I had a reputation for punching out people. People like the first doorman who picked on my friend when I was 17 and came out the door with the fearsome Ritchie Matticks and promptly went to sleep for fifteen minutes.
Do I brag? No, just to be clear I didn't pick on people for no reason or because I could. If you hated me because I scared you I am sorry.

The police were looking for me because I was a rounder in later years and an old homicide cop had told them I wasn't such a bad guy and had joined some kind of movement and changed and therefore might we willing to help if I had heard something and I had but police like living suspects.

I last talked to Danny Lalonde when we drove from the Unemployment office together and I witnessed to him, he didn't listen and has passed away. Poster 183 if your still alive and read this if I can change and forgive Danny, why can't you forgive me of the difficulties I had or perceived slight I have done to you.

I seems to have affected you greatly.

The Prior family is begging for anyone to finally speak up, on what happened that night, with Sharron.Somebody knows something. It's time for the family to know! Please!!! Speak up!!!!

It has been 44 years now since the passing of Sharron and it still feels like it was yesterday.
I knew Sharron from the Boys and Girls club, and also see her around The Point since I lived on Charon and Wellington St. at the time.
I remember walking around with other volunteers and friends looking for her after she went missing and it still affects me to this day on how I felt at that time of hoping to find her safe. It was such a tragedy to find out that she was murdered.
I hope and pray that justice will be done to all that was involved in her murder. To the Prior family, my prayers are with you.

I lived 5 doors up the street from Mike McManus (post 108), and I must agree with Robert Hennecke, (post 185), about his age.
I was 14 at the time and Mike was my age or a year older. He was NOT 20 years old as poster 183 states.
I once posted this fact on here, but unfortunately it is one of the posts that disappeared.
As Mike stated, he was in with a very bad crowd back then, but I met him in 1992 and he was a changed person then. Hope that you are still doing good today Mike.
To the Prior family, I can only offer you my hope that one day the identity of Sharron's killer will be found out.

My sincere condolences for your terrible loss. I have lost a teenage daughter myself. I hope the Police never quit on this because I think its ultimately solvable due to many given facts already, large strong mysoginistic local possible pair perhaps offered a lift and known to her. Knowing how far away the Apiary is would also define if he drove or not; in all likelihood psychopaths like this covet what they see often, and you more than likely have crossed paths with this "hero"; so when you get a gut feeling that equates with your heart and mind, heed it. The monster likes flags, symbolically and otherwise and they mean something to the skunk, kites sails penants Jock? etc.

Why.

Someone has recently emailed the private section of Sharron's website asking.

'I noticed there were a few articles about a possible lead in the case in 2004. What became of that?'

A garage in Point St-Charles, where Sharron was believed to have been help captive,was tested for DNA of Sharon. That was a dead end.

Regarding # 183, I am certain that the person being referred to was not 20 in 1975, I was 11 going on 12 and he was at the most 3 years older, somewhere between 1 to 3 years older. He lived across the street from me and I saw him many many times at the Boy's and Girl's club and he is very far in my mind as a possible suspect. It is very notable that #183 accuses this person in public but does not leave his own.

Over the more than three decades that have elapsed since the event, critical information would have most cerainly leaked out if it had been a Pointer. Anyone knowing the point of the 70's and early 80's knows that people knew quite intimately the in's and outs of their friends lives and that largely extended to even their neighbours as well~in short it was extremely difficult to keep something secret of even banal issues let alone involvement in a murder that had shocked the community. So in other words if it had been the person implied by #183, his many contacts in the neighbourhood would have learned incriminating evidence since then and most likely have passed it along to someone with a need to know.

I reiterate that it is most probable that the assailant was someone who lived on the south shore and worked at least for a while in Point Saint Charles. Why?~ because it doesn't make sense to cross either the Victoria or Champlain Bridge with a girl in your vehicle who by the way was still alive as she was grasping a branch in the field in Longueil. This person most likely dropped her off their as it is an area that he is intimately familiar with whereas a Pointer would know that all along the river-front from Griffintown or Goosevillage to Verdun their are countless areas she could have been left off. These being public lands meant that it would have taken longer to know about it with it still being relatively cool(temp) and a private proerty with the owner obviously monitoring his proerty, with a gate and a lock ties the incident to someone having a possible connection to the owner. It may be possible that the person wanted to throw a monkey wrench into the unravelling of the riddle that would imply a fair amount of prior planning that seems very unlikely given the attack on Cheryl Roy only 7-12 minutes beforehand and the large number of clues left at the scene and the frantic manner in which they were left.Surely leaving a girl still breathing on the ground of a private property that had been locked with tire prints, footprints, his shirt etc...indicates a frantic desire to get the process over with in a hurry without a lot of planning. Why someone working in the Point? That would have made the person familiar with the district but also not too well known in the area as well as providing a measure of insulation from the locals as to who the person is but yet allowing him to feel comfortable moving about as there is a measure of familiarity with the layout of the area due to the idea of having to go there so frequently. This makes this type of person as the ideal type and I think being there allowed him to figure out what building to use and how to go about it.

Throughout the 34 years since Sharron's murder we have always maintained the belief that all, even the strongest of suspects, are innocent until proven guilty.

At the same time, it is true that until Sharron's case is solved, suspicion for the crime will continue to fall on people who may be innocent. Sadly, as with all unsolved crimes, everyone remains a suspect.

I just read what ####### wrote on here.He said that the detectives were going around bar to bar looking to speak with him and he didn't hestitate to call them back.He said that he explained to the detectives that he was only 12 years old when Sharron was brutely murdered. ####, were do you get your math from? You were NOT younger than Sharron.You were certainly older than 12 years old in 1975! You were aprox 20 years old.Far cry from 12 years old. and no..I would not put it past you back then you were crazy.That's why you were shot eight times.Something was wrong in your head back then. So, don't go lying and say you were only 12!!!

If #### ##### was innocent of raping women, then he should get a lawyer and sue the ass off of anyone who says that he did it and he didn't..that's slander!! If anyone ever accused my dad of such a horrible crime, I would have their asses..It is obvisious that he is GUILTY..If he is capable of Rape..he is capable of rape and murder!!!

Your father was Louis Picard the (supposed) rapist? I say supposed as of yet it is just opionion. ( can someone find news clippings? )

Yet it is beyong an inconceivable doubt that he is an innocent man? Give me a break. No Civil normal man would rape a woman. I'd investigate the rapist before I investigate the plumber, you know what I'm saying? A man capable of raping is a man capable of murder. A man who rapes is not a man.


Can anyone dig up any L.Picard info? By the sounds of it he didn?t perpetrate just 1 bad thing, as she refers to his bad things in plural.


My heart goes out to the family of this young girl. God bless you all and I pray the perpetrator is brought to justice.

And remember Picard as everyone else is innocent until proven guilty but according to heresay he had previous experience.
